The games are named Illuvium: Overworld, Arena, and Zero. Each game is quite different from the others but designed to complement each other, this way catering to a broad audience.

The first game, Overworld, is an open-world survival game in which users explore an alien world to hunt Illuvials, which can be collected as NFTs. The second one is Arena, a more PvP-focused game in which players participate in various multiplayer modes.

The last one, Zero, is a mobile and desktop city-building game where users can build industrial complexes and military infrastructure. The release follows extensive beta testing, with early users receiving rewards from the play-to-earn campaign this year.

What is Illuvium?
Illuvium, which describes itself as the world’s first Interoperable Blockchain Game (IBG), is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) set in an open-world environment, integrating Player-vs-Player (PvP) and Player-vs-Environment (PvE) mechanics. And yes, that means it will have a single-player campaign. Users React to Long Awaited Launch Illuvium: Here’s What They’re Saying

In the game, users play as Rangers and explore an alien planet to capture and battle creatures called Illuvials, which are non-fungible tokens (NFTs) with unique traits and abilities. The game is built on Ethereum but uses Immutable X’s layer-2 platform for scalability and throughput.

How Are Users Reacting?
Following the release, many users reported issues accessing the game, many of which have been patched and resolved.

However, some problems persist. Many users reported that their balances incorrectly reflected zero and experienced issues migrating assets. On top of that, the game’s website and its decentralised exchange (DEX) suffered downtimes, causing distress among users.

Other users have complained about the cost of fuel, which they pay with cryptocurrency within the game’s integrated DEX. Since the game is divided into stages, each stage is more expensive because it requires more Crypton (an in-game asset).
