The main focus will be on the iPhone 16 lineup,
and Apple is expected to give the Apple Watch a refresh. Gurman now suggests we might also see an updated AirPods Max, essentially a Gen 2 version.
Gurman previously cast doubt on the Gen 2 appearing at the event, citing Apple’s healthy stock of the first-gen AirPods Max. However, it seems his sources have provided a fresh update. So, what can we expect from the new over-ear headphones?

According to Gurman, the main focus will be on improved audio performance, with better active noise cancellation (ANC) and the addition of adaptive audio features. ANC has been a key selling point for AirPods Max, and Apple seems keen to improve its lead in this area.
Meanwhile, adaptive audio, a feature already enjoyed by AirPods Pro users, dynamically adjusts the sound profile based on your surroundings for an optimal listening experience. Another major change Gurman points out is the long-rumored switch from the Lightning port to USB-C.
