MediaTek‘s upcoming smartphone chip, the Tianji 8400, is making waves with impressive benchmark scores. According to a post by tech insider @Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Tianji 8400 achieves AnTuTu scores between 1.7 million and 1.8 million. The news suggests MediaTek’s mid-range chip might even challenge high-end processors. However, @Digital Chat Station highlights that the Tianji 8400’s true competition lies within MediaTek’s own lineup – the sub-flagship Tianji 9300. This chipset, along with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, is currently being used by various manufacturers to develop cost-effective flagship models. Notably, the Tianji 8400 offers a potential price advantage, targeting devices priced under 1500 yuan (roughly $223 USD)MediaTek’s Upcoming Chip, the Tianji 8400 Reportedly Performs better Snapdragon 8s Gen 3

The leak also sheds light on upcoming Redmi phones. Back in April, @Digital Chat Station revealed that Redmi is working on devices powered by the Tianji 9300+, Tianji 8400, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and even the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Interestingly, all three Redmi phones are expected to share some key features: a metal mid-frame paired with a glass body, a high-resolution display (either 1.5K or 2K), support for 100-watt fast charging, and a large capacity battery. One of these phones could potentially be the recently launched Redmi K70 Supreme Edition.
